Durus Productions Proudly Presents:  The Story of The Seven
The Characters

I.  MASON REYNOLDS
U.S. Air Force (USAF) Combat Controller

Alpha dog, top man, the leader of The Seven.  Mason is our hero… the brains, the brawn, the looks.  His biggest fear is failure, but that is yet to happen in any area of his life… except, maybe for love.  He’s slow to take credit for success and quick to give it to others.  He’s humble, reserved with his emotions, quiet at times, but never lacks confidence.  He won’t admit he’s looking for “the one,” but if she came around, he’d be a changed man.  His curse is the feeling that he never quite lives up to expectations.  As a result, he possesses an almost manic drive to succeed in everything he does.  He’s done three tours in the Middle East, but ironically, hasn’t seen much combat.  His rock is his religious faith and his love is for the people he tries to save.  He says he cares about three things, but unfortunately, he’s never shared them with anyone… and he swears he’s afraid of one of them.  When it comes to doing the right thing, he may very well be the last true believer.

Current Location: Hurlburt Field, FL.  Planning a rescue mission outside his authority.

II.  JESSE PEARSON
USAF Pararescue Jumper (PJ)

Number two on the team, number one in physical fitness.  He has two combat rescues under his belt (both were pilots shot down in the Middle East); and he has a handful of peacetime rescues at sea.  He’s been tested and has proven himself.  He’s laidback, has a great sense of humor, and loves his friends more than life.  When it comes to women, he’s been there and done that.  While deployed to Iraq, his ex-wife divorced him.  She took the house, the kid, and then married a pilot (the worst sin of all to a foot-soldier).  These days, he’s lucky if he gets to spend every other weekend with his 5 year old daughter.  He’s never felt like number one and maybe has something to prove, but that doesn’t diminish his good nature.  He still carries the emotional scar of being kicked out of the Air Force Academy for “tolerating” an honor violation… since he didn’t report his friend for lying, he too paid the price of disenrollment.  This painful memory stays with him, even though he knows he did the right thing.  Ever the good soldier, he took his punishment and carried on as an enlisted man in the Air Force.  He is now a pararescueman on Mason’s team.

Current Location: Hurlburt Field, FL.  Working the phones to the State Department.

III.  “Thick” VIC WHEELER
-
Former Army Special Forces (now a SCUBA instructor for trophy wives in Key West at a ritzy resort)

After graduating from the Air Force Academy with the other guys, Vic crossed over into the Army.  He went Special Forces, then broke the stereotype on black people’s fear of water by joining a combat diver team.  After leaving the service, he moved to paradise, and now spends a lot of time at Jimmy Buffet establishments.  He’s big and bold, with a wise-cracking attitude to match.  He finds himself to be immensely funny, and his lighter side is a huge part of his character.  As the life of any party, he’s happy to break it down on the dance floor or demonstrate the meaning of the term “human pretzel” on some hapless victim.  His levity is his defense against the painful memories of his past and his loss of faith in “God’s plan.”  As you get to know him, you’ll see that the scar tissue his ex-wife left him with would make even Jerry Springer’s jaw drop.  He maintains a strong loyalty to her mal-adjusted children (none of them are his) in the hopes that he can save them from her.  Word on the street in Key West is that he has destroyed the virtue of more than one of his married scuba clients.

Current Location: Key West, FL.  Looking for his pants.

IV.  KOREY “Axe” ANDERSON
-
Former USAF Pilot (now waiting on an airline job)

Supremely competent pilot in many airframes.  He spent his career working for the 6th Special Operations Squadron, learning to fly a variety of foreign and American aircraft.  He’s been on classified missions, but has never been in combat.  Somehow, he missed all the big wars and he’s been pissed about it ever since.  He’s happily married to a pretty southern girl who has given him a young daughter and has another on the way.  Korey’s looking forward to the pay and stability of an airline job, even though he’s never enjoyed the idea of being a bus driver in the sky.  A major airline just put an offer on the table, but he’s holding out for FedEx because, “boxes don’t bitch.”  With a good family, a nice house, and the fun of little league games, Korey’s “almost 100% sure” this is all he needs.  He’s about to get a call that’s going to change everything.

Current Location: Destin, FL.  In the bleachers, yelling “Go baby, go!”

V.  DANNY “Mensa” HASSAN
- Former USAF Communications officer (now an IT businessman)

A true “five and dive” guy, he served his time in the Air Force and bailed as soon as possible.  His family is Syrian, but he’s an American citizen by birth.  Post-9/11, his buddies rib him endlessly about his heritage, but he’s able to give as good as he gets.  He's the smartest guy any of them have ever met and he's absolutely devastating in a battle of wits.  He's also the best businessman they've ever seen, which shows in the $250K a year salary he's now pulling in.  Not only has the new job allowed him to trade up in his lifestyle, but he’s having great success on the single's circuit (he is not the kind of guy who gets married... ever).  It's clear that he holds those of lesser intellect in contempt and has no problem making examples out of fools.  At the top of the food chain, he now makes the rules and he's having a hell of a time in the process.  But even though he uses sarcasm and cash as his social equalizers, in his unguarded moments it seems that he’s very much afraid of himself.

Current Location: New York City.  Living the life of luxury.

VI.  MARC “Nasty” MASTERS
-
Former Navy SEAL (now aspiring actor)

Marc didn't even wait a week after 9/11 before quitting the Academy and signing up for the Navy SEALs.  He wanted combat, he wanted revenge, and he wanted them both... now.  If you ask him, he'll say he became a SEAL because he was afraid of the water.  And to the guys who know him best, that rationale strangely makes sense.  He is as disciplined as Mason, and somehow even more closed off.  With anyone not in his close circle, there is an undercurrent of malice in his eyes and it’s very easy for him to instill true fear in people.  There are various stories about how he got his nickname, “Nasty;” most seem to involve a knife.  Carrying the emotional scars of a man who has seen a lot of close combat, he was recently separated from the Navy due to “conduct unbecoming.”  Word has it, some guy at a bar just gave him “a look” that Marc couldn’t stand.  That guy’s now in a coma.  After a brief stint in the brig and a quick discharge, he’s trying to get his life back on track.  Now living in LA, trying to piece his marriage back together, he says he’s trying to find “something good to hang onto.”  He practically chain-smokes Marlboro Reds and spends plenty of time drinking at the bar he should be tending… not surprisingly, the manager doesn’t have the balls to say anything to him about it.

Current Location: Lost in the city of angels.

VII.  CHRIS WILLS
-
Former USAF Intelligence officer (now undercover DEA agent)

The most terrified man in the world right now… his life may very well end in the next few minutes.  If no one comes for him, he will leave behind a wife and an eight year old son.

Current Location: Colombian shit hole.  Tied to a chair.  On the receiving end of torture.

SARAH WILLS
 –
Associated Press (AP) Journalist and Chris Wills’ sister

While other girls her age worry about landing a man, this 28 year old has serious business to attend to.  Smart, driven, physical, and quick on the uptake, her world is the 24-hour international news cycle.  Having cut her teeth in places like Lebanon, The Philippines, and Bosnia, she’s broken major stories and proven she’s more than a pretty face.  “Ambitious” might even be an understatement.  Now with her brother in captivity, she is intimately involved in her own investigation, proving that she will do whatever it takes to get him back.  Needless to say, the former cheerleader who was never taken very seriously has done more than enough to prove herself.  Like most of the guys in The Seven, her love life is a roadmap of wrong turns and near-miss disasters.  Thankfully, the very real, very important work she does provides a distraction from her failures of the heart.  She will become the next member of The Seven.

Current Location: Bogotá, Colombia.  Operating on her own.

THE SENATOR
“The Seven’s” man on the inside of the government…

Even though he’s called “THE SENATOR,” this shadowy figure is no elected politician.  He’s a power broker behind the scenes—a Kingmaker if you will—and he’ll do whatever is necessary to get what he wants.  We wouldn’t necessarily call him evil, but he is totally ruthless.

After discovering that THE SENATOR is part of a conspiracy involving drug trafficking and manipulating U.S. policy, The Seven will cut their first deal, beginning the slide down the slippery slope.  THE SENATOR will become both facilitator and manipulator to The Seven.

JOHN BECKER
– DEA Special Agent.

He’s a friend of Chris Wills and one of the only people willing to help The Seven get him back.  He will be a vital link in completing their first mission.

ERNESTO CORTEZ
– Boss-man of a major Cali, Colombia, drug cartel.

He is the man currently responsible for all the pain and hardship in Chris Wills’ life.

JORGE RUIZ
– Colombian Congressional Representative for Cali.

Word in the intelligence community is that he has ties to the cartel who is holding Wills hostage.
